The documents indicate that the European Commission will announce the investigation on Wednesday, with the goal of verifying the sudden surge in imports, targeting all trading partners. Additionally, it will tighten loopholes in its Steel import tariff regime. The document states: "The situation in the Aluminum Industry is also deteriorating." The European Commission noted that EU producers have "lost a significant share of the market over the past decade," and production has not recovered since the COVID-19 pandemic, with high Energy prices, weak demand, and an influx of cheap imports from Russia and other parts of the world exacerbating the situation.
