Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) will deploy the first V4 Superchargers in China in 2025, according to a poster by the US electric vehicle (EV) maker on Weibo today.

The V4 Superchargers use Tesla's latest generation of charging technology to optimize the charging experience, it said.

This next-generation Supercharger will be available to more third-party models, including new models coming to market in the future, Tesla said.

Tesla opened the first V4 Superchargers, the company's fastest and most powerful EV charging device to date, in its US home market in October 2023.

Powered by the V4 Cabinet, the Superchargers can charge up to 500 kW.

Currently, Tesla has more than 60,000 Superchargers worldwide, of which nearly 20 percent or more than 11,500 are located in the Chinese mainland, according to one of its posters today.

Tesla started the construction of its charging network after it entered the Chinese market at the end of 2013.

On February 3, 2021, Tesla's Shanghai Supercharger factory was completed and put into operation, and saw the first batch of V3 Superchargers roll off the line.

The factory covers an area of nearly 5,000 square meters and integrates R&D and production, Tesla said at the time.

It has an initial planned annual capacity of 10,000 Superchargers, primarily the V3 chargers, with a 15-minute charge to add up to 250 kilometers of range.

On December 26, 2022, Tesla inaugurated its 10,000th Supercharger in the Chinese mainland.

On April 24, 2023, Tesla announced that it was opening up its Supercharger network on a pilot basis to other brands of EVs in the Chinese mainland, following what it had done in more than 10 other markets.
