On December 10, according to a document submitted by the EU Commission on Tuesday, chip design Software company Synopsys has proposed remedies to address the EU's concerns regarding its $35 billion Cash and Stocks acquisition of engineering Software manufacturer Ansys. This transaction was announced in January and is the largest deal in the Technology Industry since chipmaker Broadcom acquired Software manufacturer VMware for $69 billion in November 2023. The EU competition enforcement agency did not disclose the details of the proposed remedies according to its policy and set a deadline of January 10 for its decision. Before deciding whether to accept these concessions or make further demands, the EU may seek feedback from competitors and customers on these concessions. If serious concerns remain for the regulators, a four-month investigation may also be initiated following the initial review.
