(With serial number)
JAL, Mine City, and the Ministry of Justice will begin selling 100 limited original cards (with serial numbers) that can be used as a Akiyoshido Premium Free Pass starting from 10:00 AM on December 10, 2024.
In 2020, employees from JAL and the Ministry of Justice were dispatched to Mine City as part of the "Regional Revitalization Project," which aims to utilize tourism resources and restore the decreased number of tourists due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This project, which started in 2023 in collaboration with JAL Engineering, resulted in the commercialization of manufacturing plans with local businesses in Mine City.
This card is made from "titanium," a material similar to that used in aircraft engines and firewalls. The surface was handled by a local business in Mine City (M.I.W), while JAL Engineering performed the processing on the reverse side. The Ministry of Justice collaborated by creating promotional posters and catchphrases for the card through vocational training at the Mine Social Rehabilitation Promotion Center, realizing new manufacturing.
The surface design is overseen by Shu Kubo, a world-renowned paper-cut artist and Mine City’s hometown ambassador, depicting the scenery of Akiyoshido, a tourist attraction in Mine City. The reverse side features the silhouette of a boeing 737-800 aircraft operating between Tokyo (Haneda) and Yamaguchi Ube.
