The stock market today proved resilient despite a disappointing drop in Q3 earnings per share by Intel and a sell-off in fellow Dow Jones Industrial Average component American Express. The two blue chips dropped nearly 11% and 3.4%, respectively. That pushed the Dow industrials down about 0.2%.
