At Hong Kong's Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park, 16 temporary gas film “fire eye” laboratories have already been completed. Against the backdrop of continuing serious public health events in Hong Kong, they will provide 100,000 daily testing services for 7.5 million Hong Kong people.
The Zhitong Finance App learned that 16 temporary gas membrane “Fire Eye” laboratories were built for the Huasheng Diagnostic Center. The Huasheng Diagnostic Center was established as a joint venture between Hong Kong stock listed company China Biotech Service (08037) and Huada Health Hong Kong Company.
Huasheng Diagnostic Centre is also one of the assistive testing agencies hired by the HKSAR Government. It is mainly responsible for testing two high-risk groups of taxi drivers and nursing home employees. It has now completed 50,000 tests.
According to data, at 16:00 on August 6, the first batch of supplies from the gas film “Fire Eye” laboratory was sent from Shenzhen to Hong Kong and arrived at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park Stadium at 21:00. At 3:30 a.m. on the 7th, the construction of 16 gas film “Fire Eye Laboratories” was completed.
Wang Shihua, special medical consultant at Huasheng Diagnostic Center, said that Huasheng's daily testing volume has now reached 30,000 tests per day, and the daily measurements can be increased to 130,000 in the short term if needed. “If mixed samples are tested, we can test up to 500,000 samples per day.”
Since July, the third wave of public health incidents, mainly local cases, has broken out in Hong Kong. Currently, the cumulative number of confirmed cases has exceeded 4,000. Among them, the proportion of cases with unknown origin is about 40%, indicating that there are still quite a few invisible patients in the community, and the risk of transmission of the virus is very high.
Carrying out national testing as soon as possible, tracking the origin and trajectory of the virus, and isolating patients with mild symptoms and asymptomatic patients has become a top priority in preventing and fighting the epidemic in Hong Kong.
Based on this, the central government has provided support to Hong Kong through three national testing service agencies, including BGI, KP Biotech and Jinyu Medical. The construction and operation of Hong Kong's “Fire Eye Laboratory” is based on the successful experience of large-scale nucleic acid screening in the early stages. It has both laboratories that meet international standards and test kits included by WHO on the emergency procurement list and used in more than 180 countries and regions around the world, which is sufficient to ensure the smooth implementation of the Hong Kong National Survey.
In terms of biotechnology services in China, the current business mainly includes the two major directions of accurate diagnosis (accurate health testing system) and precise treatment (integrated cell therapy industry chain).
