Disney (DIS.US) and Comcast (CMCSA.US) announced on Wednesday that they have filed a copyright lawsuit against the image startup Midjourney, claiming that its popular artificial intelligence image generator uses the most famous characters from the aforementioned companies, which constitutes plagiarism.
The lawsuit alleges that Midjourney pirated the copyrights of Disney and Comcast, unauthorizedly producing and distributing countless copies of character figures, including Darth Vader from Star Wars, Elsa from Frozen, and the Minions from Despicable Me.
