Sina Tech News reported on the evening of April 3 that Tencent announced that it will deepen cooperation with the World Health Organization, donate 10 million US dollars to the WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Emergency Fund, and reach an agreement to jointly promote digital health solutions to help the world fight the epidemic.

WHO Director-General Tedros Tedros said, “I am sincerely grateful to Tencent for its generous donation and contribution to the COVID19 Solidarity Emergency Response Fund. I look forward to working with Tencent to promote the use of digital medical tools in the fight against the pandemic and to work together for a healthier, safer, and fairer world.”

Liu Chiping, president of Tencent, said, “The world needs to unite to face this unprecedented challenge. WHO is leading and coordinating global efforts to support countries in their fight against the pandemic. Tencent believes that global solidarity will stop the spread of the epidemic. To achieve our shared mission, in addition to supporting the COVID-19 Solidarity Emergency Fund, we will also open source digital health solutions to provide additional technical support to WHO.”

As support to help the World Health Organization help governments develop digital health solutions, Tencent is opening up the “COVID-19 Self-Triage Assistant” (Self-Triage Assistant) to the world. This artificial intelligence service can help people self-check the risk of COVID-19 infection and provide prevention guidelines.
