Institutional views

  • Goldman Sachs: maintains 'Buy' rating for AIA, expecting further improvement in growth momentum for the whole year.

Goldman Sachs released a report, predicting that the market will respond positively to $AIA (01299.HK)$the first quarter business update of 2025, as the growth of new business value exceeds expectations. This outperformance reflects better-than-expected growth in the Hong Kong market, as well as strong growth in Thailand and Malaysia. AIA also noted that the marginal growth rate of new business contract services is accelerating, which should provide favorable conditions for growth in post-tax operating profit. Considering that the new business value for the first quarter of 2024 accounts for about 40% of the whole year, the bank believes this represents robust potential growth. As the base effect gradually weakens, further improvement in growth momentum is expected for the whole year. Goldman Sachs continues to find AIA's risk-reward ratio attractive, maintaining a 'Buy' rating with a target price of 90 Hong Kong dollars.

  • UBS: lowers the target price for CITIC SEC to 27.9 Hong Kong dollars, maintaining a 'Buy' rating.
