Equities diverged on Tuesday, as investors struggled to extend Wall Street's rally despite easing fears over US president Donald Trump's planned tariffs.
Asian stocks fluctuated through the day, with Hong Kong sinking 2.3 percent to 23,344, weighed by a drop of around six percent in tech giant Xiaomi.
Xiaomi had raised US$5.5 billion in a mega share sale as it looked to expand its electric vehicle business.
The deal, which comes after a similar move this month by EV firm BYD, stoked worries about market liquidity. (AFP)
