1. Standardize data publication and maintain Industry credibility: Encourage companies to stop publicly releasing weekly sales rankings to avoid fragmented information leading to one-sided interpretations; 2. Advocate for healthy competition and eliminate improper publicity: Avoid comparative statements and publishing related rankings.
On the 18th, the China Automotive Industry Association issued a proposal to standardize enterprise data publication.
In recent years, China’s automotive industry has accelerated its transformation towards electrification, intelligence, and connectivity, achieving a leading advantage. This achievement is hard-earned and needs to be cherished by all parties in the Industry. The China Automotive Industry Association is committed to promoting the high-quality development of the automotive industry, maintaining a fair competitive environment, guiding industry self-discipline, and promoting healthy development within the Industry. Recently, we have noticed that some car companies frequently release weekly sales rankings that do not represent market trends, with unclear data sources, leading to misinterpretations in public opinion, disrupting industry order, and exacerbating 'involution' and malicious competition. To maintain a healthy ecosystem in the automotive industry and guide it to focus on high-quality development, the China Automotive Industry Association issues the following proposals to automotive companies in China:
1. Standardize data publication and maintain industry credibility: Encourage companies to stop publicly releasing weekly sales rankings to avoid fragmented information leading to one-sided interpretations, reducing disruptive misleading public opinion on the market. Encourage companies to release their Company Business Data periodically in accordance with the operating rules of the automotive industry (such as monthly, quarterly, and annually) to collectively ensure the healthy and stable running of the Industry.
2. Advocate for healthy competition and eliminate improper publicity: Company promotions should focus on their own operational achievements, and the content should highlight the company's technological breakthroughs, product innovations, and service upgrades. Avoid using comparative statements and publishing related rankings; prohibit malicious competition created through belittling competitors or comparisons, pushing the industry to shift from 'data competition' to 'service and value competition.'
All companies are encouraged to actively respond to the above proposals, while also calling on third-party Institutions and media to support these initiatives, stop publishing weekly sales rankings, and proactively convey positive outcomes such as industry technological advancements and green transformations. Guide the public to view market fluctuations rationally, resist the hype of short-term data and anxiety-inducing behavior, shape a positive industry development atmosphere, and jointly create a clear and upright industry environment, promoting the high-quality development of China's automotive industry.
