Golden10 Data ·  Mar 7 22:25

The USA National Weather Service's outlook for March 12 to 16 indicates that temperatures may be above normal from the central and southern Great Plains to the East Coast.

The following is the Agriculture weather advisory for the USA on March 7, 2025, Friday, exclusively compiled by the Jin Ten Futures APP.

Western USA

Snowfall continues in mountainous areas, while another precipitation area is moving through the southwestern desert region. The precipitation in the southwest helps increase surface soil moisture, benefiting the growth of small grains, such as Durum wheat in Arizona, which had a germination rate of 63% by the end of February. However, the snowpack conditions in the high-altitude regions of the southwest remain poor, with many watersheds in Arizona and New Mexico having snow water equivalent below 25% of average levels, leading to poor prospects for spring and summer snowmelt runoff.

Central Plains of the USA

Warm and breezy weather has swept across much of Oklahoma and Texas. In western Texas and the surrounding areas, the threat of wildfires has significantly increased due to dry, windy weather, low humidity, and dry fuels. Meanwhile, a low-pressure system is moving across the central Great Plains, bringing some snowfall to Nebraska.

Corn Belt of the Midwest, USA.

A band of precipitation (including rain and snow) is expanding eastward from Nebraska and Iowa. In other areas, the warm weather in the central Mississippi River Basin stands in stark contrast to the cold and dry conditions in the northern Corn Belt. As of the end of February, winter wheat in the Midwest appears to have over-wintered well, with over half of the crop conditions rated as good to excellent across all states from Missouri to Michigan and Ohio.

Southern USA

Cold weather east of the Mississippi River continues, while temperatures in the western Gulf Coast region are rising. This morning, scattered frost was also observed in southern Georgia.

Weather Outlook

The low-pressure system currently crossing the central Great Plains will quickly move east and weaken, expected to reach the Mid-Atlantic coast by Saturday. The subsequent storm will move across the southern regions, bringing some weekend snowfall to the Southern Plains and weekend rainfall to Arkansas, Tennessee, and the Carolinas. Early next week, a split jet stream will continue to cause more rapidly moving weak disturbances in the north and south, including a storm system moving along the Canadian border, which will bring brief cold air to the northern Great Plains and upper Midwest. In other areas, unstable, showery weather in the Southwest may return as early as Tuesday.

The US Weather Bureau's 6 to 10-day outlook from March 12 to 16 indicates that temperatures from the central and southern Great Plains to the East Coast may be above normal, while the northern Plains and western regions will experience below normal temperatures. Meanwhile, precipitation in the south-central USA and southern Florida may be near or below normal, while other regions of the country may see above normal precipitation.
