According to a report by the Peking Business Daily, the soaring international Gold prices have driven adjustments in the interest rates of the CSI China Mainland Banks Index's accumulation Gold business. Recently, CM BANK (03968.HK) announced that starting from February 12, it will adjust the annualized interest rates for both the savings and fixed-term accounts of its Gold Account business, with a maximum reduction of up to 30 basis points compared to the rates before the adjustment. It is understood that the Gold Account business of CM BANK falls under the accumulation Gold business, and regarding the reasons for the interest rate reduction, on February 9, information from CM BANK customer service indicated that it is mainly influenced by the rapid rise in Gold prices and the decline in Renminbi capital interest rates.
