On January 8, Gelonghui announced that Zijin Mining Group (02899.HK) convened the first extraordinary meeting of the eighth Board of Directors for 2025 via communication voting, unanimously approving the proposal to donate 30 million yuan to the earthquake disaster area in Tibet's Shigatse. The relevant situation is announced as follows:
At 9:00 Beijing time on January 7, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Dingri County of Shigatse, Tibet, resulting in significant casualties and a large number of houses collapsing. The disaster area is located in a high-altitude cold region, and it is winter, with affected residents urgently needing assistance.
In order to assist the affected areas and actively fulfill social responsibilities, the Board of Directors has agreed that the company and its affiliated enterprises in the Tibet Sector will collectively donate 30 million yuan in cash to the earthquake disaster area for emergency rescue efforts, livelihood assistance for affected residents, support for rescue teams, and post-disaster reconstruction related work. Among them, the company headquarters will donate 10 million yuan, Tibet Julong Copper Industry Co., Ltd. (Julong Copper Mine) will donate 10 million yuan, Tibet Xianglong Mining Co., Ltd. (Juno Copper Mine) will donate 5 million yuan, and Tibet Ali Lakuo Resources Co., Ltd. (Lakuo Cuo Salt Lake Lithium) will donate 5 million yuan.
In addition, Julong Copper Mine and Juno Copper Mine have immediately organized an earthquake disaster rescue team equipped with rescue command vehicles, ambulances, fire trucks, emergency vehicles, and rescue equipment to the disaster area following the earthquake. The first batch of rescue personnel arrived on the evening of January 7. Meanwhile, enterprises within the Tibet Sector have urgently procured essential rescue supplies needed in the disaster area. The first batch of supplies, which include 1,300 coats, 1,000 quilts, 500 mattresses, 400 tents, as well as blankets, cotton shoes, bread, drinking water, and other essential materials for warmth and daily needs, have arrived in the early hours of January 8.
The company and its affiliated enterprises in the Tibet Sector will actively carry out rescue operations under the unified deployment of the local rescue command center, and based on the actual needs of the disaster area, will continue to organize and allocate materials and personnel, fully supporting the earthquake relief efforts in Dingri County, working hand in hand with the people in the disaster area to overcome the difficulties.
