Both Malaysia and Singapore have officially signed and exchanged the memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the development of Malaysia and Singapore regarding the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).

The JS-SEZ aims to bring mutual benefit to businesses and citizens of both countries, including enhancing the flow of goods and people, improving the ease of doing business, and supporting talent development.

The exchange of documents was witnessed by both Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Singapore PM Lawrence Wong during Wong's two-day official visit to Malaysia in conjunction with the 11th Malaysia-Singapore Leaders' Retreat.

Both leaders also witnessed the signing of six MOUs and a letter of intent on education, women and social welfare, climate change, carbon capture and storage, urban development and combatting transnational crimes.

Meanwhile, during a joint press conference, Anwar said both countries are reopening discussions on the water supply issue and a technical team will discuss the parameters.

Wong, meanwhile, said Malaysia and Singapore agreed on a shared vision of growing connection and connectivity between the two countries.
