UBS Group released a research report stating that the National Press and Publication Administration announced the results of the latest batch of game license approvals in December, involving 122 local games and 7 imported games.
The bank indicated that the aforementioned approvals are viewed as a continued positive regulation of the gaming industry, based on the approval of over 100 local game licenses each month, with an increase in import game approvals last month and this month, reflecting a relaxation of oversight on overseas content, which is favorable for TENCENT (00700), which has substantial investments and collaborations in overseas copyrights and studios.
The report stated that TENCENT's "Monster Hunter Outlanders" mobile and PC games, as well as NTES-S (09999) "Infinite" mobile, PC, and PS5 platform games, have been approved, reflecting good progress in the development of the two games, increasing the likelihood of their release next year. This is particularly better than market expectations for NTES-S's "Infinite", as the market originally anticipated that this game would not be released until 2026.
