MJets Air Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of MMAG Aviation Consortium Sdn Bhd under MMAG Holdings Berhad, has acquired its seventh aircraft, a Boeing B737-400F Converted Freighter, marking its first owned freighter. This acquisition is part of MJets Air's plan to expand its fleet to 13 aircraft by the end of 2025.
The Boeing B737-400F, with a payload capacity of up to 18 tonnes, is recognised for its cost-efficiency and suitability for regional operations. It aligns with MJets Air's focus on short- to medium-haul routes, catering to the growing demand for air cargo services, particularly in Southeast Asia and China.
Collaborations with MasKargo, Teleport, China Southern Airways, and All Nippon Airways have strengthened MJets Air's network across key routes in Asia. Chairman of MJets Air, Mr. Woo Kam Weng, highlighted the strategic importance of the acquisition:
"This acquisition addresses the overwhelming demand for air cargo services, which has outpaced our current capacity. It is critical for meeting customer demands, enhancing service reliability, and delivering greater value to stakeholders."
With a targeted fleet of 13 aircraft by 2025, MJets Air aims to solidify its position as a leader in the regional air cargo market.
