Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. will make capital investments at the Kobe factory (Nishinihon, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture) to expand the production capacity of distribution boards and power supply equipment.

With the spread of generative AI, the construction of Internet Datacenters (IDC) is expanding, and the demand for power supply equipment and transformer stations that provide stable electrical utilities to the IDC's servers and air conditioning is rising rapidly.
The company provides receiving and transforming equipment (distribution boards and molded transformers) and power supply equipment (UPS) for semiconductor factories, where IDC and new Construction of factories are ongoing. The order value for receiving and transforming equipment and power supply devices for IDC and semiconductor factories is expected to double by fiscal year 2026 compared to fiscal year 2023.
In light of this background, the production building of the Kobe factory, which manufactures distribution boards and UPS, will be expanded, and skid system production equipment (cranes and testing equipment) will be upgraded. As a result, the production capacity of distribution boards and UPS at the Kobe factory will increase by 1.5 times.

The skid system is a method of integrating distribution boards, UPS, transformers, etc., which were previously delivered to the site individually, into a common platform and transporting them to the site in a unit state. By consolidating the wiring, flow tests, sequence tests, and appearance inspections that were previously conducted at the factory and the site, it contributes to shortening the construction period of the IDC. It is possible to shorten the time from pre-shipment testing to onsite installation by 40%, and it also reduces the number of workers needed for onsite construction and testing, contributing to the resolution of labor shortages in construction companies, etc.
Construction of the building at the Kobe factory will begin in June 2025, with completion scheduled for September 2026.

The time from pre-shipment testing to onsite installation can be shortened by 40%.
