Sumitomo Machinery Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Shinji Shimomura, hereinafter referred to as "the company"), has joined the international initiative "RMI (Responsible Minerals Initiative)" leading responsible mineral sourcing efforts.
RMI supports companies' efforts in responsible mineral sourcing through activities such as the development of conflict mineral surveys and the promotion of conflict-free audits for smelters. Through this membership, our group will further strive to promote responsible mineral sourcing across the entire supply chain.
Furthermore, our group revised the "Responsible Mineral Sourcing Policy" in September 2024.
Based on this policy, we will identify and evaluate risks in accordance with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas, and actively engage in responsible mineral sourcing activities throughout the entire supply chain.
