Genting Malaysia Berhad was recently honoured with the Halal Champion award at the launch of Halal on Track Pahang 2024, held at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Kuantan. The award recognises the halal status of Resorts World Genting's Jom Makan SkyAvenue and Jom Makan Street Food outlets, which underwent a thorough evaluation by the Pahang State Islamic Religious Council (JAIP).

Genting Malaysia was ranked among the top 10 out of 1,500 nominations for its commitment to halal practices in food and beverage operations.

Resorts World Genting's Internal Halal Chairman Rajis Othman received the award from Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The halal-compliant Jom Makan outlets are popular with visitors to Resorts World Genting for offering authentic Malaysian street food in a food court-style setting.

Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Public Relations at Resorts World Genting Spencer Lee expressed pride in receiving the award, stating that it underscores the company's focus on inclusivity, quality, and convenience in its halal offerings. The award marks a significant milestone as Genting Malaysia looks to further expand its halal initiatives at the resort.

Halal on Track Pahang is a joint initiative between the federal and state governments, aimed at enhancing Malaysia's halal certification process and supporting entrepreneurs in gaining consumer confidence in their products' compliance with Islamic dietary laws.

The event was also attended by key figures from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and the Pahang State Islamic Religious Council (JAIP).
