PDD.US's overseas version online store Temu faces the risk of being fined for violating EU consumer protection laws.
The European Commission, along with regulatory institutions in Belgium, Germany, Ireland, and other countries, jointly demanded that Temu stop practices that may mislead consumers and violate EU product safety rules, including issuing false discounts and reviews, forcing customers to play the 'wheel of fortune' game, while hiding important information, displaying misleading information, and concealing contact information for customers to raise questions or complaints.
In a statement, Temu said that the platform has been well received by many consumers in a relatively short period of time, but Temu is still a very young platform, having entered the EU for less than two years, actively learning and adapting to local requirements. Will fully cooperate with this investigation because it is believed that the review will benefit consumers, merchants, and the platform in the long run.
