Cathay (00293.HK) CEO of operations and airline services, Ma Ho-wan, said that plans to start negotiations for purchasing long-haul aircraft from next year to prepare for the growth over the next decade. When considering purchases, different sizes of aircraft will be evaluated, from the smaller Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft to the larger Boeing 777-9 aircraft.

He also mentioned that Cathay's business is gradually recovering, with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on global travel diminishing, the current operating level is about 90% of the pre-pandemic level.
