Sapura Resources board has informed that Dato' Shahriman Shamsuddin has tendered his resignation as the Managing Director and Group CEO of the Company with immediate effect.
In the same letter, the board said he also tendered his resignation as director of the company as well from his directorships in other companies under the group
Dato Shariman was placed under investigation after the subsidiary company Sapura Energy was investigated by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission with the CEO subsequently being arrested.
The board had on October 10 issued a statement that it was concerned over the investigation and informed it had issued show cause letters to Dato Shariman and placed the Group CEO on a leave of absence.
