Investor Caution Sees Bursa Malaysia End Morning Trade In The Red

Bursa Malaysia concluded the morning trade session in negative territory as investors exhibited caution ahead of the United States' presidential election next week, along with forthcoming data that may impact the US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision.

As of 12.30 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI had decreased by 5.18 points to 1,609.90, down from yesterday's closing of 1,615.08. The benchmark index opened slightly lower, down 0.18 of a point at 1,614.90, fluctuating between a low of 1,606.84 and a high of 1,615.36 during the session.

On the broader market, decliners outnumbered gainers with 605 counters falling against 281 that advanced. Additionally, 428 counters remained unchanged, 1,178 were untraded, and 123 were suspended.

Turnover for the session reached 1.31 billion units, valued at RM1.11 billion.
