On the news front, recently, the Hong Kong Tourism Board stated that during the National Day holiday, a series of special offers will be launched to encourage tourists from mainland China to visit Hong Kong. This includes collaborating with a mainland Chinese lifestyle guide platform to give tourists 'Call Cab Red Packets', which are taxi discount coupons. It also plans to work with major travel agencies in more than 20 cities in mainland China to promote travel packages to Hong Kong. Pu Yin International indicated that there is a steady growth in demand for Mid-Autumn travel, rapid recovery in inbound and outbound travel, and the trend of volume increase and price decrease may continue. The National Day holiday is expected to see a release of long-distance travel demand.

Guo Zheng International stated that during the Mid-Autumn holiday, domestic tourism revenue per person increased by 8% compared to 2019, with a 6% increase in the number of travelers. The recovery of average travel expenditure per person was better than that during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. Looking at National Day holiday booking data, domestic and outbound flight prices have decreased by 20% year-on-year (according to Flight Butler), which is consistent with the booking data from OTA platforms; the ADR of high-star hotels has significantly decreased year-on-year, while low-star hotels have remained relatively stable. The bank believes that under the current consumer environment, the frequency of domestic travel orders, the extent of recovery in outbound travel, and the performance of OTA platforms are worth monitoring, with performance expected to remain robust supported by mature operational systems.
