According to the announcement by Beijing Dabeinong Technology Group (002385.SZ), on September 12, 2024, local time in Brazil, the Brazilian National Biosafety Technical Committee (CTNBio) announced its meeting resolutions for September 2024, in which the transgenic insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant soybean transformation event DBN8002 (DBN-08002-3), developed by the company's subsidiary, Beijing Dabeinong Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (DBN Biotech), received approval for cultivation after safety evaluation review, with a 30-day public notice period. This is another soybean transformation event approved for cultivation in Brazil by DBN Biotech, following the herbicide-tolerant soybean transformation event DBN9004 (DBN-09004-6).

DBN8002 is a transgenic soybean transformation event developed by DBN Biotech that has both insect resistance and herbicide tolerance traits. It exhibits high resistance to more than ten species of lepidopteran pests, such as the fall armyworm and sugar beet armyworm, and can withstand high rates of the herbicide glufosinate-ammonium. The suitable regions for DBN8002 include the Huang-Huai-Hai region in China, the southern region of China, and the northern regions of Brazil and Argentina in South America. DBN8002 has already received approval for cultivation in Argentina in November 2022. The approval for cultivation in Brazil is another important progress for DBN Biotech in expanding the South American market, which plays a positive role in the company's efforts to develop the Brazilian market.

Currently, DBN8002 has obtained import permits in China and will engage in commercial cooperation and promotion in Brazil. However, to fully realize free trade and cultivation, import permits from other major soybean-consuming countries are still required. DBN Biotech is currently in the process of applying for relevant regulations.
