The Zhitong Finance App learned that Amazon (AMZN.US) announced on Thursday that it will once again invest more than 2.1 billion dollars in its courier service partner program. The company said the funds will be used for security projects, rate cards, training, value-added services and incentives. Over the past six years, the company's total investment in small business express delivery service projects has reached $12.3 billion.

Amazon said, “To help DSP (Digital Service Platform) provide drivers with higher wages and benefits, we will invest an additional $0.66 billion next year for DSP rate card increases and bonuses. We expect our investment will help DSPs raise drivers' wages to the national average of nearly $22.00 per hour (depending on their geographic location), a 7% increase over last year.” According to reports, many DSPs have paid their drivers more than $22 per hour.

In terms of safety, Amazon said it will use artificial intelligence and technology tools to identify risk characteristics of 0.2 billion roads and provide drivers with 18 million safety tips by the end of this year.
