The Shanghai Municipal Government issued a notice stating that the standard construction area of small and medium-sized housing units in new sold commodity housing land will be optimized. According to the average housing construction area per capita in Shanghai, the family population structure, the market demand for housing unit types, and the housing construction design and construction conditions, the standard construction area of small and medium-sized housing units in multi-story, low-rise, and high-rise commodity housing in the city will be adjusted to 100 square meters, 110 square meters, and 120 square meters respectively; improving the balance of housing unit types and guiding reasonable layout of internal space.
The notice also stated that the supply ratio of small and medium-sized housing units in new sold commodity housing land will be optimized. In principle, the proportion in the area between the inner and outer rings is not less than 70%, the proportion in the area within the inner ring is not less than 60%, the proportion in the new towns and key areas of north-south transformation is not less than 60%, and the proportion in other areas outside the outer ring is not less than 50%.
