Japanese ADR (American Depositary Securities) shares fell in comparison with the Tokyo Stock Exchange (converted to 147.60 yen per dollar), Japan Post Bank ＜7182 ＞, Seven & i HD ＜3382＞, Renesas ＜6723＞, DISCO ＜6146＞, Toyota Industries ＜6201＞, Advantest ＜6857＞, Hitachi, Ltd. ＜6501＞, etc. fell, and general sales became dominant. The Chicago Nikkei 225 futures settlement price is 37,650 yen, which is 440 yen lower than the Osaka daytime ratio.

The US stock market continues to grow. The Dow average rose by $96.70 to $40,659.76, and the Nasdaq closed at 17,631.72, which rose 37.22 points. President Goolsby of the Chicago Federal Reserve expressed concern about the economy and labor market, and since the number of housing starts fell below expectations, it was sold out of a sense of alarm, and after being close, it fell. Dollar sales became dominant as interest rates declined because of dovish statements by President Goulsby of the US Chicago Federal Bank that “warning signs are lit on the labor market and some leading economic indicators,” and the number of housing starts in the US July fell to a low level since 2020 immediately after the economic blockade due to the pandemic. After that, the August University of Michigan Consumer Confidence Index and the expected inflation rate of the same index exceeded expectations, so temporary repurchases intensified, but the increase was limited. The euro dollar weakened to 1.0982 dollars, then rose to 1.1030 dollars and closed at 1.1027 dollars.

NY crude oil futures for the 9-month period fell on the 16th (NYMEX crude oil closing price for the 9-month period: 76.65 ↓ 1.51).
