Lei Jun, who doesn't want to be bogged down in production capacity, is about to welcome the Xiaomi Phase II factory.

On July 25, according to information from the Beijing Municipal Commission for Regulation and Self-Regulation, the 0106 industrial project in YZ00-0606 block of Yizhuang Xincheng in Beijing was sold for 0.84 billion yuan. The competitor was Xiaomi Jingxi Technology Co., Ltd., which is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Xiaomi Communications Co., Ltd.

The plot is close to the current Xiaomi Motor Yizhuang plant. According to the land use requirements disclosed in the listing documents, the industrial land is planned to be used to build a new energy intelligent connected vehicle and parts manufacturing project.

According to the plan previously disclosed, Xiaomi will build a complete vehicle manufacturing plant in Yizhuang, Beijing in two phases. The second phase is scheduled to begin construction in 2024 and be completed in 2025.

There is an urgent need to increase the production capacity of Xiaomi cars.

The current planned annual production capacity of the Xiaomi Phase I factory is 0.15 million vehicles, but the delivery cycle for the Xiaomi SU7 is still very long. Judging from the Xiaomi Auto App, the current delivery time for the three versions of the Xiaomi SU7 models is 19-30 weeks.

At the time of launch, the delivery cycle for several versions of the Xiaomi SU7 was over 25 weeks. The waiting time of about half a year persuaded many consumers, and even car rental companies and scalpers made quite a bit of money using the time difference.

In order to speed up delivery, the Xiaomi car factory launched a “double shift model” in June, and successfully delivered over 10,000 in the same month.

In a speech a few days ago, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun said that it is expected that Xiaomi cars will meet the annual delivery target of 0.1 million vehicles ahead of schedule in November.

According to delivery data for the past three months and this month's target, the cumulative delivery volume of Xiaomi cars will reach 0.04 million vehicles by the end of July. In other words, for the next four months, an average of 0.015 million vehicles per month will be delivered to achieve the above goals.

Also in order to speed up delivery, recently, Xiaomi has also upgraded its factory production line.

However, the Phase II plant did not help this year's production capacity; the newly built production capacity was reserved for new cars.

In the first quarter earnings call, Xiaomi Group partner and president Lu Weibing revealed that new cars are currently being developed, and the production capacity of the Phase 1 factory is already saturated, so there is no way to supply new models.

Since this year, the situation of new Xiaomi models has been revealed one after another. The second car has been revealed to be a pure electric SUV model. Sources said that the car will be launched in 2025, and there is an urgent need to complete the second phase of Xiaomi.

A few days ago, Xiaomi also officially obtained the license to build independent cars, making up for an important license to build cars.

Despite being late in the game, it took many years for the new forces to get the results Xiaomi has achieved.

Xiaomi also needs to run fast in order to advance towards the top five global car companies' goals after squeezing into the table.
