Fisco Japan ·  Jul 17 11:35

As of the closing of the market 17 days ago, the number of rising stocks among the Nikkei average component stocks was 172, falling stocks were 49, and four stocks remained unchanged.

The Nikkei average continues to rise, ending the morning session at 41,307.36 yen (+0.08%) up 32.28 from the previous day (with an approximate trading volume of 820 million shares).

The US stock market continued to rise on the 16th. The Dow Jones average rose 742.76 dollars (+1.85%) to 40,954.48 dollars, the Nasdaq rose 36.77 points (+0.20%) to 18,509.34, and the S&P 500 rose 35.98 points (+0.64%) to 5,667.20. It rose due to buying that was impressed with better-than-expected retail sales, and the Dow Jones rose significantly, supported by expectations for growth and consumption, as well as the rise of UnitedHealth. The Nasdaq was pushed down by selling related to rotation and temporarily fell, but recovered into positive territory toward the end of the day. The Dow Jones reached a new high for the second consecutive day and closed at a high level throughout the day.

Responding to the continuation of the Trump rally, the Tokyo market started trading in a buying tone. The Nikkei average started at around 41,400 yen, but the increase gradually narrowed as semiconductor stocks including Nvidia fell. As domestic demand-related stocks such as real estate, construction, and securities were bought relatively, TOPIX was strong, and the market was dominated by small and medium-sized stocks such as the growth market. Among the Nikkei average adopted stocks, Toho and Resonac were dominant in buying based on good performance, and defense-related stocks such as Kawasaki Heavy and Mitsubishi Heavy were also bought, as the Trump rally continued to be conscious. In addition, Komatsu, Hitachi Construction Machinery, Nomura, Hitachi Zosen, Sumitomo Heavy, and JGC Holdings were purchased. On the other hand, some semiconductor stocks such as Lasertec, Tokyo Electron, Disco, Screen HD, and Advantest were weak. Also, Apple-related stocks such as TDK and Murata Manufacturing were not doing well. Omron, Ebara, and T&D Holdings were also sold. Among the sectors, textiles & apparels, real estate, precision instruments, construction, and machinery rose, while other products, electric appliances, and insurance only fell.
