Secco Intelligent Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Baidu Zhixing Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Shudong Technology (AutoX), and Little Ma Yixing Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. were the first companies to obtain demonstration application licenses. My Little Pony Zhixing Technology announced that Shanghai residents will be able to reserve a driverless autonomous taxi (Robotaxi) through its mobile app, covering a 205-kilometer route in Pudong.

According to the license, it is valid from July 4, 2024 to January 4, 2025. According to information, the Shanghai demonstration application license is still in the “free test ride” stage. The company is configuring the vehicle, which will be officially launched soon, and there is currently no charge for the public.

The 2024 WAIC driverless driving experience event was also held simultaneously during the conference. At the driverless driving experience site in the East Area of the AI Track in Area B of the Expo Park, the “Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily” reporter saw that several tested cars had already been parked in an open space. During the test, many spectators came to experience the test ride.

The driverless brand I experienced this time was “My Little Pony Zhixing.” According to staff, the total length of this experience route is nearly 4 kilometers, from the driverless branch of the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Hall to and from the Shanghai World Expo$InterContinental Hotels (IHG.US)$It passes through two popular stops, World Expo Center Station and China Art Museum Station, both of which are busy sections of the road.

Since this year, the popularity of autonomous driving has risen sharply. Related policies are also constantly emerging, and domestic smart driving cars are “on the road” at an accelerated pace.

On July 3, the day before this conference, five departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Transport, officially announced that China will launch an integrated “vehicle road cloud” application pilot for intelligent connected vehicles in 20 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Shenyang.

As the first city in China to implement an autonomous driving test policy, Shanghai has successively opened demonstration zones such as Jiading and Jinqiao for testing.

The driverless intelligent connected vehicle demonstration application in Shanghai has also further realized the interconnection of autonomous driving test roads in Pudong and the Lingang New Area. The route covers the entire Jinqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone, as well as the “North-South Science and Technology Innovation Corridor Corridor” roads such as Shenjiang Road, Hunan Highway, and Lianggang Highway in Pudong, passing through multiple subway stations, business districts and industrial parks to fully meet the daily travel needs of citizens.

This is an important milestone in the application of driverless equipment in the Pudong New Area and the whole country, marking that driverless equipment is gradually moving towards a new stage of standardized and large-scale application.
