According to the Zhī Tōng Cái Jīng app, mainland insurance companies rose across the board in morning trading. As of the time of publication, New China Life Insurance (01336) rose 6.85% to HKD 15.92, China Taiping (00966) rose 6.14% to HKD 8.47, China Pacific Insurance (02601) rose 5.19% to HKD 20.05, and Ping An Insurance (02318) rose 4.52% to HKD 37.05.

On the news front, recently, new energy vehicle brand Zhiji changed its industrial and commercial registration, adding China Pacific Insurance and other shareholders. Market insiders said that under the background of low interest rates and poor performance of the equity market, pressure on the asset side is an industry-wide problem facing insurance companies. It is reported that China Pacific Insurance had previously stated in its financial report that while strengthening the allocation of long-term interest rate bonds, it would appropriately increase the allocation of equity assets and other alternative investments such as unlisted equities, thereby improving long-term investment returns.

In addition, China Securities Co., Ltd. pointed out that from the liability side, it is expected that the growth rate of new business premiums will be better than expected, and the policy of integrating banking and insurance and proactively optimizing product structure is expected to drive the continuation of the improvement in value rate. From the asset side, the long-term interest rate trend continued to decline in the second quarter, the CSI 300 index fell slightly, and the decline narrowed year-on-year. The total investment yield is expected to be relatively stable, and the growth of investment asset scale is expected to drive a slight improvement in investment income in the first half.
