During the press conference of the National Development and Reform Commission, it was stated that the national industrial electricity generation above a certain scale reached 3.66 trillion kilowatt-hours in the first five months of this year, an increase of 5.5% year-on-year. In May, electricity generation was 717.9 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 2.3%.

In the first five months of this year, national social electricity consumption increased by 8.6% year-on-year. The electricity consumption of the primary, secondary, tertiary industries, and residential sectors increased by 9.7%, 7.2%, 12.7%, and 9.9% respectively. In May, national social electricity consumption increased by 7.2% year-on-year.
