本港首季完成建造工程名義總值687億元 按年增8.7%

The temporary results of the quarterly construction completion survey released by the government statistics department today showed that the nominal total value of construction projects completed by major contractors in the first quarter of this year was NT$68.7 billion, up 8.7% year-on-year.

After excluding the impact of price changes, the preliminary results show that in real terms, the total value of construction projects completed by major contractors during the same period rose by 8.4%.

Analyzing by construction category, the nominal total value of privately-owned site construction projects completed in the first quarter of this year was NT$21.8 billion, up 20.8% from the same period last year. In real terms, the increase was 18.3%. The nominal total value of publicly-owned site construction projects completed in the first quarter of this year increased by 9.5% year-on-year to NT$25.5 billion. In real terms, the increase was 7.8%.

The nominal total value of non-site construction projects completed by major contractors in the first quarter of this year was NT$21.4 billion, a decrease of 2.2% year-on-year. On a real basis, it showed a slight decline of 0.8%. Non-site construction projects include small-scale new construction projects and floor decoration, building renovation and maintenance projects, and non-site electrical equipment installation and maintenance projects.

Analyzing by main usage category, the nominal total value of residential building construction projects completed in the first quarter of this year was NT$20.1 billion, up 48.4% year-on-year. During the same period, the nominal total value of transportation engineering site construction projects completed in the first quarter of this year increased by 10.4% to NT$11 billion.

By comparing the seasonally adjusted figures on a quarterly basis, the nominal total value of construction projects completed by major contractors in the first quarter of this year rose by 9.2% compared to the fourth quarter of last year. In real terms, the increase was 9.1%.
