Based on the regulations of the Act on Regulation of Nuclear Reactors, we will conduct the 6th regular inspection (discontinuation phase) of Unit 1 of the Genkai Nuclear Power Plant and the 3rd regular inspection (discontinuation phase) of Unit 2, from June 11, 2024 for approximately six months.
In the regular inspection, we will confirm the functions and performance of the following facilities that must be maintained during the discontinuation phase:
- Radiation management facilities
- Facilities for handling and storing nuclear fuel materials
- Facilities for disposing of radioactive waste
- General structure of the reactor facility
- Reactor main body
- Reactor containment facility
- Other auxiliary facilities of the reactor
- Other important facilities
During the implementation of the regular inspection, we will proceed carefully with each inspection while prioritizing safety.
