The route runs 33 kilometers from Dachen Island to Taizhou Bay Airport. The maximum load of the drone operating this route is 30 kilograms, and it has a maximum flight speed of 160 kilometers per hour. Compared to shipping, this logistics route can reduce one-way travel time by nearly two hours.
In terms of airspace, the Civil Unmanned Aircraft Comprehensive Management Platform (UOM) will be running online by January 1, 2024. Restrictions on unmanned aircraft flying below 120 meters from the ground have been lifted in sparsely populated areas across the country, including most urban areas north of Longhua District in Shenzhen. In terms of economics, according to Open Source Securities, the additional shipping cost of a single package using a drone delivery service is about 1.6 yuan, while according to the prospectus of SF Express, the labor outsourcing cost of a single package reaches 6.4 yuan. The open source securities company believes that by 2024, logistics drones are expected to become the first scene to significantly reduce the cost of express delivery due to the opening of low-altitude airspace for unmanned aerial vehicles, the accelerated approval of airworthiness of medium to large-scale unmanned aerial vehicles, government subsidies, and the successful implementation of business models.
