Dow surpasses 40,000, Walmart’s stock hits a record high: Yahoo Finance

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) hit a major milestone, crossing 40,000 for the first time. Both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq also hit new record highs (^GSPC, ^IXIC) in today's trading. One of the reasons the Dow hit a new high is Walmart (WMT). The retailer’s shares are surging after posting quarterly results that topped Wall Street estimates. Walmart got a big boost from its e-commerce business, which posted a 21% gain globally. Other trending tickers on Yahoo Finance include Alibaba Group (BABA), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Costco (COST), and Chubb Limited (CB).
