On April 28, the China Automobile Association and the National Computer Emergency Response Coordination Center issued the “Notice Concerning the Inspection Status of 4 Safety Requirements for Vehicle Data Processing (First Batch)”. Tesla became one of the first companies to pass the national vehicle data test.
The announcement shows that the models produced by Tesla's Shanghai factory meet the four compliance requirements stipulated by relevant national regulations, including anonymised processing such as facial information outside the vehicle, not collecting cockpit data by default, in-vehicle processing of cockpit data, and significant notification of processing personal information.
Tesla's domestic ban and restrictions will be completely lifted, and Tesla FSD's entry into China will accelerate.
Through authoritative standards and requirements for national vehicle data security, Tesla will help completely lift the domestic ban on Tesla smart cars (such as agencies, airports, highways, etc.). The domestic usability and data security of FSD functions are guaranteed, and consumers' confidence in Tesla will also increase.
As FSD data security risks are resolved and consumer trust increases, Tesla is expected to use the momentum to accelerate FSD's entry into China.
According to the Guotai Junan Research Report, if FSD is successfully implemented domestically, the domestic autonomous driving industry is expected to flourish.
At present, Tesla FSD has been iterated to the V12.3 version to achieve complete end-to-end, and performance and scenario usability have improved significantly compared to previous versions.
In the future, if Tesla FSD successfully lands in China, FSD will become a strong competitor for domestic car companies' autonomous driving solutions through technological leadership. The competition for domestic autonomous driving highland will become more intense, and its domestic competitors will increase R&D investment and commercialization speed in the direction of autonomous driving, which is conducive to the vigorous development of the domestic autonomous driving industry.
