The Nikkei Average in the backstage started at 38392.24 yen, which was 457.48 yen higher than the previous day, and slightly reduced the increase from the previous draw (38459.01 yen). Nikkei 225 futures during lunchtime were weak in the 38380 yen to 38460 yen range, and they were mixed. The dollar and yen depreciated by about 40 yen from around 9:00 a.m., and the dollar was at a high level of 1 dollar = 156.70-80 yen. As for Asian market conditions, while the Shanghai Composite Index fell by about 0.2% due to movements with the previous day's closing price in between, the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index generally remained at a slightly high level and rose by about 0.2%.
