Malaysian Shares Extend Gains on Upbeat Sentiment; MQ Technology's Shares Rally Over 33%

Malaysian shares continued gains on the week's open, taking cues from the positive Wall Street performance on Friday. The index was also lifted by the positive sentiment of regional peers.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, the main gauge of Malaysian stocks, added 7.5 points to end 0.48% higher at 1,582.7 at the close.

The index opened comparatively lower but kept adding gains as the session progressed to end in the green territory. The day ranged between 1,575 and 1,583.3.

In other news, Agrobank's president and chief Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin has been re-elected as vice-chairman of the Association of National Development Finance Institutions in Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank (Adfimi). He will serve between 2025 and 2027.

In corporate news, shares of the industrial mold manufacturer MQ Technology (KLSE:MQTECH) soared over 33%, and those of the distributor of fresh and frozen foods Saudee Group (KLSE:SAUDEE) jumped 25% on close.

Meanwhile, shares of the end-to-end mobile application service provider Nexgram Holdings (KLSE:NEXGRAM) rose 20% on today's close.
