Amazon Australia is looking to fill 1,400 roles and you don't need experience or qualifications

There are plenty of positions available as Amazon gears up for its mid-year sales season.

Amazon Australia is launching a huge hiring blitz and wants to bring 1,400 workers on board in the next few weeks. The multi-national corporation is gearing up for its mid-year sales season and is looking for hundreds of people to help pick, pack and ship orders to customers around the country.

If you've been looking for a job or even just a bit of extra work on the side, Amazon needs workers across its fulfilment centres and Amazon Logistics sites in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia. The positions will be especially needed in July when Amazon launches Prime Day, an annual event where members get loads of cheap deals.

"We are really proud of the jobs we’ve created for Australians," Jacqui Marker, HR Director, Operations, Amazon Australia said.

"Now, we have 1,400 roles to fill with motivated and enthusiastic people looking for a short-term role. We provide on-the-job training so no previous experience or formal qualifications are required, and Prime Day always promises to be an exciting time of year.”

Amazon said these seasonal roles can present workers with an opportunity for more long-term positions at the company.

Those lucky enough to nab a full-time job at Amazon can unlock benefits like life insurance, income protection insurance, and subsidised private health insurance for their immediate family.

Samarpan Kapoor started as a seasonal worker during Amazon's mid-year sales blitz last year and had a "blast". His hard work earned him a permanent position at the company not long after Prime Day wrapped up.

“I had a blast working during Prime Day - the atmosphere was buzzing on-site, and our team worked together well," he said in a statement.

"I was thrilled to be offered a permanent position and have been here ever since! Our team is so diverse, with people from all sorts of backgrounds and experiences. I learn something new on the job every day. Plus, we get additional training and educational support to help us develop and grow.

"Working at Amazon is what you make of it - there are so many opportunities available, it’s up to you to take them.”

In addition to the roles helping to pick, pack and ship orders, you can get a job delivering the packages to homes across the country with your own car during hours that suit you.
