Eight publicly-traded REITs upped their dividend payouts in March, bringing the total number of real estate investment trusts that hiked their dividends in Q1 to 35, data from S&P Global Market Intelligence showed.
Retail REIT InvenTrust Properties (NYSE:IVT) saw the largest relative dividend growth of the month, with the quarterly distribution increasing by 4.9% to $0.226/share. CareTrust REIT (NYSE:CTRE) raised its quarterly dividend by 3.6% to $0.29/share, the report noted.
UDR (NYSE:UDR), W. P. Carey (NYSE:WPC), Realty Income (NYSE:O), Equity Residential (NYSE:EQR), Whitestone REIT (NYSE:WSR) and Sun Communities (NYSE:SUI) were the other REITs to announce dividend hikes this month, the data said.
