The Saudi General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) recently issued a statement saying that Saudi Air Transport and International Cooperation Department is cooperating with China Southern Airlines to launch regular flights from Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen to the Saudi capital.
China Southern Airlines said in a press release that the opening of this route will further promote the development of economic, trade, culture, and tourism between China and Saudi Arabia, and also provide new travel options for travelers.
According to Saudi sources, from April 16, China Southern's upcoming transportation plan will include adding 4 pairs of commercial flights and 3 pairs of air cargo flights every week.
Among them, the new direct passenger flight from Beijing Daxing to Riyadh on April 16 will be operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft every Tuesday and Saturday, with a flight time of about 10 hours. The full flight time for the return flight number is approximately 8 hours 50 minutes.
In addition, China Southern Airlines will also launch a new direct flight route between Shenzhen and Riyadh from June 3, which will be carried out every Monday and Friday. The flight time is about 9 hours and 30 minutes, and will be carried out by an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.
This move is part of GACA's ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity and expand Saudi air transport networks, as well as part of Saudi Arabia's vision for 2030.
The measures aim to transform the region into a global passenger flow and logistics hub and bring new opportunities and cooperation to the country's aviation sector.
Previously, Saudi Arabian Airlines reached an agreement with China Eastern Airlines to launch a direct flight route from Shanghai to Riyadh on April 27, with 3 flights per week, every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.
The opening of these flights will further promote the development of the economy, trade, culture, and tourism between China and Saudi Arabia, and also provide new options for travelers planning to travel on May Day.
