Roth MKM analysts published their best investing ideas in the mid-cap universe.
Since late January, the S&P 400 (SP400) has returned 7.5%, and over that period, Roth MKM analysts said they have seen a risk-off rotation as utilities (XLU) and staples (XLP) became the best performing sectors at the mid-cap level.
The strongest performing stocks came from the industrial sector (XLI), analysts said. Some new additions to their watchlist include Advanced Drainage Systems (WMS), MasTec (MTZ), Regal Rexnord Corp. (RRX), and JetBlue (JBLU). All the selected names from that sector returned an average of 17.7%.
Energy (XLE) and real estate (XLRE) were also added as new sector positions, with additions such as Equitrans Midstream (ETRN), Antero Resources (AR), and ChampionX (CHX).
Analysts also saw an uptick in mid-cap bank stocks, they are overweight consumer discretionary (XLY), industrials (XLI) and financials (XLF).
