Sharp has commercialized the “BASIO Active2,” a smartphone for the senior generation equipped with a unique anti-spam call function. It will go on sale on 4/5 this year from “au” and “UQ mobile” of KDDI Corporation and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Co., Ltd.
This unit has adopted a new spam call countermeasure function with the aim of preventing damage from special fraud that occurs frequently, mainly among the senior generation. When there is an incoming call from a number not registered in the phone book or from an unannounced call, it is equipped with a full range of crime prevention functions, such as “check before leaving,” which automatically disconnects the call after automatic voice by tapping a dedicated button when receiving an incoming call or when you feel that it is a suspicious call during an incoming call or call. Also, since calls are automatically recorded using “Call Recording*1,” users can check call details later.
Furthermore, it is the first in the BASIO series to be equipped with a “mobile wallet” function. In addition to being able to use transportation IC card services, etc., it is now compatible with “smartphone electronic certificates*2,” which can be used in the same way as an Individual Number Card. If you apply and register for the use of an “electronic certificate for smartphones” from the Mina Portal application, it is possible to perform procedures that originally require an Individual Number Card using a smartphone. You can conveniently use the multi-function copier at convenience stores to copy a certificate of residence, obtain a seal registration certificate, and browse drug/medical examination information on the app.
Additionally, large, easy-to-push dedicated buttons for “phone” and “email” are placed at the bottom of the main unit so that those using a smartphone for the first time can easily operate it. The button lights up to let you know about missed calls and new emails. It uses a 5.7 inch LCD display. Large characters and a simple home screen are easy to read and can be operated intuitively.
