Gray Television (NYSE:GTN) (NYSE:GTN.A) and NBC Network (NASDAQ:CMCSA) agreed to an extension and renewal of Gray's network affiliations that had been set to expire on December 31.
Gray owns and operates NBC affiliated television stations serving 56 markets.
The deal keeps NBC's network affiliates on the air and prevents them from going dark at the end of the year and causing a potentially damaging carriage dispute.
Gray Television is present in 113 television markets that reach approximately 36% of US television households. It also owns video program companies Raycom Sports, Tupelo Media Group and PowerNation Studios, as well as the studio production facilities Assembly Atlanta and Third Rail Studios. Gray owns a majority interest in Swirl Films.
