The turmoil in US stocks has continued since October. The mixed performance of star technology stocks has greatly disappointed investors. The repeated situation between Palestine and Israel and high US bond yields are suppressing risk appetite.

In the remaining two months of 2023, where will the US stock market go in the future? CFRA Research statistics show that since 1945, November and December have been among the best performing months for US stocks every year, with average monthly gains of 1.3% and 1.6%, respectively.

However, Ed Yardeni, founder of Yardeni Research, believes that it is impossible for the S&P 500 index to return to its peak in July for the rest of this year. However, it still believes that Santa's market is possible, but in the period between now and Thanksgiving, given the disturbing development trend of the situation in the Middle East and the sharp decline in the US bond market, the stock market is more likely to fall rather than rise.

Looking ahead to November, there will still be many major events in the US stock market. The Federal Reserve will announce interest rate decisions, and the market will focus on whether Powell will continue to reaffirm the possibility of interest rate hikes during the year; the two major tech giants, Apple and Nvidia, will announce results, which may affect the risk appetite of global stock investors; and the market will also usher in a series of major economic data — non-farm payrolls, CPI, PPI, etc.

Furthermore, starting November 5, the North American region will implement winter time, and the Beijing time corresponding to the regular trading session for US stocks will be changed from 22:30 to 5:00 a.m. the next day.
