Take back everything you've lost.

Huawei is making a strong comeback.

Recently, Huawei has been overwhelmed with the big news. First$CHINA MOBILE (00941.HK)$The “binge purchase” of 1.2 million Huawei phones attracted attention, and later Huawei's “Petal Pay” was approved by the central bank.

In terms of brand endorsement, following Andy Lau, Huawei joined hands with Tse Ting-feng, and the image of a “tough guy” became more and more figurative. In response to this, netizens also claimed one after another that, with the support of double insurance, Huawei is focusing on a “far ahead, extremely advanced!”

China Mobile “binge-buys” 1.2 million units

Since the launch of the new Huawei phone raid at the end of August, the Huawei Mate 60 and other series phones have been popular, and “one is hard to find” has become the norm.

And recently,Huawei has taken on another big order of 1.2 million units.

According to the China Mobile Procurement and Bidding Network, China Mobile recently purchased 1.2 million mobile phones from Huawei, including 5 products including the Huawei Mate 60 Premium Edition. The announcement was issued on October 12, and the announcement is valid for 3 days.

It is worth noting that large purchases of more than one million units this time are still relatively rare. Based on the Huawei Mate 60 (12GB+256GB) starting price of 5499 yuan/unit, the value of 1.2 million Huawei Mate 60 series phones is about 6.6 billion yuan.

As the Mate 60 series continues to be popular, information continues to circulate that Huawei has raised its smartphone shipment target for next year.

Earlier, Tianfeng International analyst Guo Mingyi said that the Huawei Mate60 Pro's shipping plan for the second half of the year had increased by about 20% to 5.5 million to 6 million units, and the cumulative shipment volume 12 months after sale will reach at least 12 million units. Excluding potential non-commercial risks, and benefiting from the demand and market influence of the Mate 60 Pro, shipments of Huawei phones will increase by about 65% year-on-year to 38 million units in 2023.Looking ahead to 2024, Huawei's mobile phone shipments are expected to reach at least 60 million units.

Also, according to third-party statistics, the number of Huawei Mate60 series activated from August 29 to October 1 reached 1.694 million units. As a comparison, the number of iPhone 15 series activations in the first two weeks after release was 1,549,000 units.

Currently, the Mate60 series has a steady weekly activation volume of about 500,000 units, and production continues to rise. As of October 13, the number of active Huawei Mate60 series units should have been close to 2.7 million.

Judging from this, the actual sales volume of the Huawei Mate60 series may have exceeded 2.7 million units.

Since the end of August, Huawei has launched the “Pioneer Program”. New models in the Mate 60 Pro and Mate X5 series have not been sold first. The products have all been upgraded in terms of camera, display, and satellite call functions.

At the Huawei Fall Full Scene New Product Launch on September 25, Huawei officially launched the Mate 60 series. Since then, the series of phones has been in short supply.

In response, Yu Chengdong, executive director of Huawei and CEO of Terminal BG, also said,Huawei is working overtime to urgently produce.

Huawei Petal Pay is here

In addition to the mobile phone business welcoming big orders, Huawei's payment business star also has big news.“CyberLink Smart Pay” changed its name to “Petal Pay”.

On October 13, the People's Bank of China updated the license information for important changes to non-bank payment institutions, and agreed that Shenzhen CyberLink Smart Pay Network Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “CyberLink Smart Pay”) would change the company name to “Petal Pay (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.” (hereinafter referred to as “Petal Pay”).

According to reports, CyberLink SmartPay is a payment institution owned by Huawei.

In March 2021, Huawei obtained a payment license through the acquisition of CyberLink SmartPay; in September 2021, the online payment function of Huawei Pay was launched; in October 2020, Huawei applied for the Petal Pay trademark; in June 2022, the Petal Pay trademark applied for by Huawei was approved for registration.

Regarding the positioning of Huawei's payment business, Ma Chuanyong, general manager of Petal Pay, previously stated,Huawei Pay is positioned as an innovative full-scenario payment platform. “Huawei Pay is the core infrastructure of the Hongmeng ecosystem.”

“Hongmeng Ecology is facing a scenario with multiple terminals and multiple industries. In the future, not only on mobile phones, tablets, and cars, but even on KTV kiosks and advertising screens in the future, there may be Hongmeng in these places. Huawei Pay is the underlying infrastructure of Hongmeng Ecology. By deeply integrating payment capabilities and the Hongmeng system, Huawei developers and partners can directly complete the closed business loop in the Hongmeng ecosystem, and users can complete payments conveniently and safely. Therefore, Huawei Pay is not only a mobile payment, but also an innovative full-scenario payment platform.”

Currently, WeChat Pay and Alipay already occupy more than 90% of the domestic payment market. However, Ma Chuanyong once said,Huawei Pay is not in competition with WeChat Pay and Alipay; they are all partners of Huawei.

Guan Xuan Tse Tingfeng

In terms of brand image, after Andy Lau became the brand ambassador for the Mate60 RS Extraordinary Master, Huawei “held hands” with Tse Tingfeng for the Mate X5.

On October 16, the official Weibo account of Huawei Mobile announced the upcoming Huawei Mate X5 endorsed by Tse Ting-feng, with the caption “High energy duel, immediate launch. See you tomorrow for the Huawei MateX5 “Frontier Quest”!”. Furthermore, in the poster, Tse Tingfeng is holding Huawei's latest foldable phone, the Mate X5. The poster slogan is “hardcore enough, trendy enough, and witty enough.”

Afterwards, Tse Ting-feng also posted on Weibo, saying, “A new drama is a testament to its power. If you break the boundaries, you'll see your limits.”

It is reported that a short film called “Mission” will be posted on Weibo on October 17, starring Tse Ting-feng.

Last month, at Huawei's fall full-scene new product launch conference, Huawei launched the Mate 60 RS ultimate design flagship phone. Famous actor Andy Lau served as the Mate60 RS Extraordinary Master Brand Ambassador.

In terms of brand ambassadors, the choice of these two spokespersons also reflects Huawei's desire to use its characters to display its devices. Some netizens claim that this also indirectly shows Huawei's position on the audience for this series of phones.

According to reports, in terms of price, the Huawei folding screen Mate X5 is 12,999 yuan for the 12+256GB version, 13,999 yuan for the 12+512GB version, 14,999 yuan for the 16+512GB version; 15,999 yuan for the 16+512GB version; 15,999 yuan for the 16+512GB version, and 16,999 yuan for the 16+1 TB version.

Previously, the Huawei Mate X5 folding screen was not sold before it was sold and joined the “Pioneer Program,” but since its launch, the Huawei Mate X5 has also been in short supply.
