According to the Zhitong Finance App, Mastercard International (00898) announced that it expects the Group to obtain a comprehensive pre-tax profit of HK$130 million to HK$150 million in the six months ending June 30, 2023. Compared with the six months ending June 30, 2022, it will obtain a comprehensive pre-tax profit of about HK$113 million.

According to reports, the expected increase in profit for this period is mainly due to an increase in unrealized fair value net income from equity investments held by the Group to about HK$75 million (same period last year: net income of about HK$16 million); and an increase in dividend income from equity investments held by the Group to about HK$17 million (same period last year: about HK$10 million).
